SAFE IN OUR LOCKDOWN BUBBLES

Child/ Hine or: Maryam   Teacher/ Kaiako: Huda     Date: 20 April/ Paenga-whawha 2020

We closed the centre on Monday 23 March 2020. That day our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, announced that the whole of New Zealand was going into lockdown for at least 4 weeks starting from Thursday 26 March to stop the spread of covid 19. This highly infectious virus was making millions of people all over the world sick and people were dying.  We had to stay safe in our homes and only interact with the people living with us.
Our religion tells us what to do in an epidemic. ‘Ā’isha, Mother of the Believers, said:
I asked the Messenger of Allāh () about plagues and he said, “They are a punishment which Allāhsends upon whomsoever He wills, but Allāh has made it a mercy to the believers. Anyone who remains in a town which is plagued with an epidemic, remaining patient and anticipating Allāh’s reward, while firmly believing that nothing will befall him other than what Allāh has preordained for him, then he will receive a reward of a martyr.” Sahih Al Bukhari
While you stayed at home you shared some photos/ videos/ messages with your kaiako and friends on the An Nur whatsapp group. You have been happily at home.
You have made some play dough with Bayan, as well as colouring, painting, cutting gluing activities. You have been doing more exercise, running laps in the yard, joining your mum with yoga sometimes too.
You have been playing with your sister Bayan lot too, playing pets (puppies or kitten or tigers).

Thank you for contributing to our group. We were happy to see you using your time with your family. We look forward to seeing you back at an-Nur soon to continue your learning journey!
